HUGGINS, HAROLD GLEN (1916-1985)

Nevada Journal, Nevada, Story County, Iowa, Friday, June 21, 1985, page 25C, column 6. “DEATHS – HAROLD GLEN HUGGINS – Harold Glenn Huggins, 69, of 621 5th St., Maxwell, Iowa, died Tuesday, June 18, 1985, at his home. Death was due to cancer. He had been ill four years. He was born at Dallas Center, Ia., May 19, 1916, to Charles E. and Minnie (Langhoff) Huggins. He was married to Helen Louise Dunlap Aug. 29, 1933, at Bethany, Mo. Survivors include his wife Helen, of 621 5th St., Maxwell; a daughter, Susan K. Bell of Plano, Tex.; two sons, Thomas G. Huggins of Hyde Park, N.Y., Donald G. Huggins of Lawrence, Kan.; two brothers, Milton Huggins of Adel, Ia., and Lester Huggins of Minburn, and a sister, Erma Moss of Minburn, Ia. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. Mr. Huggins was a carpenter and contractor. He belonged t the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion. Community activities include membership on the volunteer fire department for 24 years, and serving as town marshal and on the city council. Funeral services will be at the Maxwell Untied Methodist Church Saturday, June 22, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Lavonne R. Kaasa officiating. Burial will be at Farrar Cemetery. Friends may call after noon on Friday, June 21, at the Chet Ryan Mortuary, 5th St. and G Ave., Nevada.”
