Nevada Journal, Nevada, Story County, Iowa, Thursday, August 9, 1990, page 2A. “OBITUARIES – Helen L. Huggins – Sept. 25, 1915 to Aug. 3, 1990 – Helen Louise Huggins, 74, of Maxwell died Aug. 3 at Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines of emphysema. She was born in Farrar to George and Susan Dunlap and married Harold “Glenn” Huggins on Aug. 28, 1933, in Bethany, Mo. She was a member of Maxwell First United Methodist Church and Maxwell VFW Auxiliary. Survivors include two sons, Thomas G. of Hurley, N.Y., and Donald G. of Lawrence, Kan.; one daughter, Susan K. Bell of Allen, Texas; her mother, Susan K. Dunlap of Maxwell; one brother, George “Pete” Dunlap of Carthage, Mo.; one sister, Virginia Parmentar of Des Moines; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her father, one sister and her husband. Visitation was held Aug. 6 at Chet Ryan Mortuary in Nevada. Services were held Aug. 7 at Maxwell United Methodist Church with the Rev. William Rieckhoff officiating with burial in the Farrar Cemetery.”
