Diana Lynne Weeks, 52, of Story City, died Friday, Feb. 24, at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. She fought a brief but very courageous battle with complications of lung cancer. The memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 2, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Story City.

Diana was born Nov. 4, 1953, in Pontiac, Ill., the third child of William and Angela (Biava) McCarter of Cardiff, Ill. She married Rick Weeks June 13, 2004.

She is survived by her husband, Rick of Story City; one son Brian (Dannalee) Brehman of Las Vegas; one stepdaughter Ashley Weeks of Ankeny; one stepson Ryan Weeks, stationed with the U.S. Army in Korea; her mother, Angela McCarter of Cornell, Ill.; two sisters, Carolyn Wykes of Pontiac, Ill., and Gail (Tim) Hinshaw of Cornell, Ill.; one brother Larry (Kathie) McCarter of Logansport, Ind.; and 14 nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Bill McCarter.

Soderstrum Funeral Home in Story City is in charge of arrangements.
