NEVADA JOURNAL, Nevada, Story County, Iowa, Thursday, December 1, 2005.

LaVerne E. Nielsen, 90, of Ames and formerly of Harlan, Iowa, died Tuesday, Nov. 22, in Ames. Funeral services were held Nov. 26 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Harlan. Burial was in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery at Kimballton.

Survivors include a daughter, Ardith (George) Forsyth of Nevada; two brothers, Ivan Fiscus of Kirkman and Wayne (Violet) Fiscus of Kirkman; two sisters-in-law, Madge Fiscus of Harlan and Kathryn Fiscus of Harlan; two grandsons, Eric (Michelle) Forsyth of Monterey, CA, and Gregory (Christine) Forsyth of Newton; four great-grandchildren, Max Forsyth of Monterey, CA, Kate Forsyth of Monterey, CA, Emily Forsyth of Newton and Anna Forsyth of Newton; and other relatives and friends.

Burmeister-Johannsen Funeral Home, Harlan, was in charge of arrangements.
