Former Roland Woman Dies in Yakima, Washington

Roland, Oct. 28--The death of Erma Hagen, 39, of Roland, which occurred at Yakima, Wash., Saturday morning come as a distinct shock to the Roland community where she was born and raised.

Funeral services will be held at the Salem Lutheran church in Roland, Thursday afternoon at 2 p. m. with Rev. Olaf Holen in charge of the services.

The deceased is a daughter of Mrs. Sadie Hagen. She was born April 11, 1902, in Roland, attended and graduated from the Roland schools. She also attended the Capital City Commercial college in Des Moines.

She went west with the family in June.

She is survived by her mother, her sister, Betty, her son, James, and her brother Orville Hagen in th home, her sister, Mrs. Clarence Stoeker of Mukwonaga, Wis., and Mrs. Ernest Benson of Waterloo.

Her father, a brother and sister preceded her in death.

SUBMITTER'S NOTE: This obituary does not mention Erma's husband, Cecil Mark Brewer. However, some records record her as Erma Selma Hagen Brewer.
