Funeral Services Held at Slater for A. A. Munson

Slater, Aug. 6 -- Funeral services for Albert A. Munson were held Friday afternoon at 1:30 at the Riis Funeral Home and 2:00 o'clock at the Bethlehem church. The services were in charge of Rev. E. R. Rorem who read as his scripture passage, the 23rd Psalm.

Mrs. Edna Houge and Mrs. Stanley Lundy arranged the many beautiful floral tributes.

Misses Gladys and Arlene Estrem sang two duets, "Sometime We'll Understand" and "God Will Take Care of You."

The pallbearers were Carl Johnson of Ames, John Croft of Sheldahl, M. S. Heggen, A. L. Peterson, Dr. R. G. Nott and Nels Ersland. Burial took place in the Bethlehem cemetery.

Albert Andrew Munson as born in Lisbon, Ill., April 16, 1864, and died at his home in Slater July 29, 1941, at the age of 77 years, 3 months and 13 days. His parents were Mr. and Mrs. Henry Munson. His marriage to Helene Bertha Birkeland took place in 1898 in Newark, Ill. One son, Robert, was born to this union.

Mr. Munson was an experienced photographer, specializing in both studio and landscape work. Mr. and Munson resided in various parts of Illinois, and later moved to Maxwell. In December, 1902, they moved to Slater, where he established his studio. In April, 1918, he sold his photo studio business. He was a devoted husband, a loving father and a loyal friend.

His wife died in December, 1939. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Munson and one sister, Miss Marie Munson of Newark, Ill.

Among those from a distance to attend the funeral services were Miss Marie Munson of Newark, Ill., Mrs. Chas. Johnson of Pilot Mound; Mr. and Mrs. Carl Johnson, Mrs. Nettie Johnson, Mrs. A. M. Robins and Mrs. Grove Foster of Ames; Clifford Sween and Wayne Hildreth, Jr. of Rhodes and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Coon of Des Moines.
