THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Thursday, November 10, 2005.

Larry David "LD" Young, 42, of Stratford and formerly of Boone passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 8.

Larry was born Aug.15, 1963, in Boone the son of Larry LeRoy and Elaine Alma (Haase) Young. Larry graduated from Boone High School in 1981.

Larry worked as a welder with the Mid States Steel Company in Boone. Larry enjoyed spending time with his family. He also enjoyed riding Harley Davidson motorcycles and riding in saddle bronco rodeos. He helped his step-dad with his race car and enjoyed watching NASCAR

Larry is survived by his father, Larry LeRoy Young of Big Fork, Minn.; his mother and step-dad, Elaine Pinegar and Dennis of Des Moines; his special friend, Cheryl Bearden and her three children, Dana, Lana and Chance Bearden all of Stratford; his brother, Kenneth Young and his wife Cindy of Pilot Mound; his brother, Brian Young and his wife Jennifer of Des Moines; his step-brother, Matthew Pinegar and his wife Janice of Ankeny; his 3 nieces, Carlisa Young, Kamryn Young and Paige Pinegar; his 3 nephews, Brian T. Young, Memphis Young and Jordon Berry.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 12, at the Schroeder-Walter Funeral Home, Fifth and Story Streets of Boone.

Burial will be in the Boone Memorial Gardens Cemetery of Boone.

Visitation with the family present to greet friends will be held Friday, Nov. 11, at the Schroeder-Walter Funeral Home, Fifth and Story streets of Boone from 6 to 8 p.m. Visitation will continue Saturday, Nov. 12, at the funeral home from 8 a.m. to the time of service.

Memorials may be directed to the family to be used at their discretion.

Schroeder-Walter Funeral Home, Fifth and Story Streets of Boone is in charge of the arrangements.
