Chris Paulson, Native Son of Nevada, Is Dead
Chris Paulson, 58, native son of Nevada, died Monday afternoon at his home at 711 Tenth street, after a long illness.
Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2:30 at the Memorial Lutheran church with Dr. J. O. Simon in charge and burial will be in the Nevada cemetery.
Chris Paulson, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Paulson, born in Nevada, Iowa, May 18, 1882, passed away at his 711-10th street, after a lingering illness August 19, at the age of 58 years and three months. All of his life was spent in Story county. The earlier part of his life he engaged in farming. He moved to town in 1931 and since that time he had operated a truck.
He was baptized and confirmed a member of the Lutheran church in which he held continued membership and for some years served on the church council.
On Feb. 12, 1902, he was united in marriage to Anna Larson. To this union six children were born. He leaves to mourn his death, his wife, four sons and one daughter. The sons are Martin of Ames, Wallace of Des Moines, Ivan of Nevada and Kermit of Los Angeles, Calif., and the daughter Doris, who is at home. One son Elmer, died in infancy.
He leaves one brother Walter Paulson of Ames and a sister Anna Sorenson of Des Moines. He also leaves ten grandchildren and numerous other relatives and a host of friends who will miss his cheerful disposition.
He enjoyed a recent visit of his son Kermit, who just returned to California after spending a week at his father's bedside. Kermit will be unable to come back at this time.
The funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the Memorial Lutheran church. Short prayer services will be held at the home at 2:00.
