Former Story County Man Died Today In Minnesota
Dr. Frank J. Kurtz, 54, died at 1:30 a. m. today at his home at Aitken, Minn., according to a message reaching his brother Corey Kurtz of 805 Seventh street today.
Dr. Kurtz, a graduate veterinarian, had been in Minnesota for a number of years, but about two years ago came down and spent a year in Nevada in practice.
During his time here, he developed an attack of illness doubtless from his contact with horses suffering from sleeping sickness, and from that he never recovered.
Born in Story county, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Stephen J. Kurtz, Indian Creek township pioneers, he was raised to young manhood here and married Mary Dunahoo of the same neighborhood.
The father passed away several years ago and the mother, Mrs. Mary Kurtz, but a year ago.
He leaves in his immediate family his wife, Mary Dunahoo-Kurtz and sons Byron and Stephen.
Funeral services and burial will be at Aitken Saturday afternoon. The brother, Corey Kurtz, Mrs. Kurtz and daughters Mary and Esther will drive up to attend the funeral.
