Funeral Services for Nora McWherter

Collins, June 18--Funeral services for Nora Mae McWherter, 34, a former Collins resident, who passed away Thursday night, June 13, at the hospital near Woodward, were held at the home of her aunt, Mrs. J. E. Hale, at Colins, Saturday afternoon, June 15 at 2:30 o'clock. The services were in charge of the Rev. Charles Fix of the local Methodist church. Music was furnished by Miss Calla Wood and Mrs. C. R. Stone. Miss Wood sang two solos, "I Heard the Voice of Jesus Say," and "Nearer, Still Nearer." The flowers were cared for by Mrs. Ora Hanson and Mrs. O. N. Serbein.Interment was in Collins Evergreen cemetery by the side of her mother, who passed away a number of years ago.
Pallbearers were Vern Halterman, Harley Myers, Gerald Gilley, Marion Vasey, Forrest Pointer and Laurence Dodd.
The following brief sketch of her life was read by the pastor:
Nora Mae McWherter, daughter of William and Judia McWherter, was born in Collins, May 12, 1906 and died at Woodward June 13, 1940.Her mother preceded her in death several years ago. She is survived by her father, William McWherter of Nevada, three brothers, Wesley of Collins, Charles now in the U. S. Navy, Eddie of Ames, and two sisters, Mrs. Mary O'Hara of Long Beach, Cal., and Mrs. Minnie Hostetler of Colo.
When but a young girl she joined the Methodist church in Collins. Early in life she became subject to epilepsy and has for the last 18 years been at the home at Woodward where she passed away.
