OBITUARY

MILLER GRIMSLEY

Miller Grimsley was born in Hamilton county, on a farm six miles north of Roland, on Oct. 21, 1856, and passed away at his home on a farm 5 1/2 miles southwest of Roland on Oct. 27, 1941, at the age of 45 years and 6 days.

He was baptized and confirmed in Elim Lutheran Church in Randall. He spent about twenty years of his life in the Randall community.

On Oct. 24, 1919, he was united in marriage to Myrna Johnson. To this union three children were born: one son, Curtis; two daughters, Rhoda and Ardyce, all living at home.

Mr. and Mrs. Grimsley resided for four years in the Kelley vicinity, moving from there to the community where they now lived.

Miller had been in good health and had not complained to his family of any ailment. He had worked as usual that day, and sat and talked to the family after the evening meal, and retired to bed, after which in a few minutes he was stricken with a heart attack.

He was a devoted husband and a loving father, and will be greatly missed in his home. Blessed be his memory.

Funeral services were held Friday, Oct. 31, at 1:30 p.m., at the house and 2:30 at the Salem Lutheran church at Roland, Rev. Holen officiating. The pall bearers were Ole Nerness, George Nerness, Silas Thompson, Casper Thompson, Barney Durby and Elmer Jacobson. May Ford sang, "The Old Rugged Cross" and "God Will Take Care of You," two favorite hymns of the deceased.

He leaves to mourn his death his wife, three children: his aged father, B. M. Grimsley of Randall; two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Johnson of Seattle, Wash., and Mrs. Helmer Satre of Stanhope. All were present for the funeral. His mother preceded him in death in January of this year, and one brother, Lewis, passed away in 1924.

The remains were interred in the Roland cemetery.
