OBITUARY
MRE ERIC HENDERSON
Mrs. Josephine Henrietta Henderson, daughter of Ivar and Christine Larson (Slettevig) was born on her parents homestead 4 miles northeast of Story City, October 2, 1881, and died at her farm home 4 miles southeast of Story City, June 26, 1940, at the age of 58 years, 8 months and 18 days.
She was baptized and confirmed in the Salem Lutheran church at Roland. Since 1908 she has been a faithful member of the Bethel Lutheran church, Story City.
July 3, 1912, she was united in marriage to Eric Henderson. To this union three sons were born: Donald, Melvin and Cecil, all at home. Her father, mother, three sisters and a brother have preceded her in death.
She leaves to mourn her sudden departure, her husband, three sons and two sisters, Mrs. Julia Christianson and Mrs. Carry Cooper, also a host of relatives and friends.
Mrs. Henderson was a devoted wife and mother. She was a homemaker and a hard worker. She loved her family and was always willing to serve her dear ones. Her home was a hospitable place where friends feel at home.
Mrs. Henderson was a faithful church member and a good mission worker, especially in the United Aid society, where she was a very active member.
She was buried from her home and Bethel church June 24, 1940. Rev. G. O. Paulsrud officiated. The church could not contain all the relatives and friends who came to pay respect to this good wife and mother. Mrs. Miller and Mrs. ---land sang two appropriate songs. Pallbearers were six of Mrs. Henderson's nephews: Charles and John Christianson, Richard and Irving Wierson, William and Archie Larson. Interment was made at Fairview cemetery. $38.00 was given to Missions in her memory.
