From Story City Herald September 12, 1902 (page 7)

Miss Lena Krohn, a domestic in the A. A. Weaver family, died suddenly Tuesday evening as the result of a fainting spell to which he was subject. There is no mystery surrounding her demise such as for a time was rumored about the streets. Coroner O. A. Hall held an inquest soon after the body was found and rendered a verdict of death "from natural causes.:

Miss Krohn was 34 years of age. She had lived in Webster City for about three months. She had worked in the H. M. Sparboe home until about five weeks ago when she came into the A. A. Weaver home. For five or six years she has been subject to sudden sinking spells when she would remain in an unconscious condition. She had spent considerable time in Chicago taking treatment from a specialist. The specialist told her that her sudden taking away during one of her spells could be a question of time.

Tuesday afternoon about two o'clock Miss Krohn left her work in Mrs. Weaver's kitchen and went upstairs to her room. Nothing more was heard from her until about four. At this time Mrs. Weaver happened to go to her room and was horrified to find Miss Krohn lying prone upon the bed in a limp condition. She at first supposed it to be but a fainting spell but soon realized that death had ensued.

Coroner Hall was call and summoned a jury consisting of Oscar F. Donaldson, W. F. McDowell and J. D. Sketchley. These rendered the verdict as announced that "deceased had come to her death as a result of natural causes."

Gerhardt Krohn of Humboldt, a brother to Miss Lena, arrived in the city Tuesday night and took the remains of his sister to Roland Wednesday afternoon for interment by the side of her mother. The remainder of the family reside in Webb. Miss Lena has formerly taught school. She was well liked both in the school room and among those in whose families she had resided. Her sudden demise is a blow as well to these friends as to her own family.--Freeman Tribune.
