OBITUARIES
MRS. M. THORSON
Mrs. Jeanette Thorson (nee Wierson) was born in Story City, Iowa, on May 25, 1862 and died at her home west of Randall, on January 21, 1937, at the age of 44 years, 7 months and 26 days.
She was next to the oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ole Wierson of Roland, Iowa.
She was baptized by Rev. Amlund and confirmed by Rev. T. T. Heimarck of the Immanuel congregation of which she has remained a faithful member up to the time of her death, always willing to support the activities of her church.
She was married to Milo Thorson on December 31, 1912, by Rev. Heimarck. To this union six children were born.
Mrs. Thorson was a kind hearted wife, mother and neighbor. She did not occupy an exalted position in life. She was not lifted up on the pinnacle of fame. She did not write any books and still she had a large place in her home; there she wrote one book from which we may read her life's story. She was quiet and without display. She tended to her children with a mother's tenderness. Self sacrifice and patience were the flowers she cultivated.
She is survived by her husband, three sons, Jeffrey, Onel and Arlie; three daughters, Mrs. Donald Johnson, Maxine and Iona and on grandson, Everett Thorson; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ole Wierson of Roland and three sisters, Mrs. Vera Tegland, Roland; Mrs. Irwin Goodmanson, Radcliffe; Mrs. Harvey Jorgenson, Story City; three brothers, E. B. Wierson, Ontario; Otis and Leslie both of Roland. One sister preceded her in death.
Funeral services were held in Immanuel church on Sunday, January 24, with Rev. T. T. Heimarck and Rev. Holen of Roland officiating and there were a large number of friends and relatives in attendance.
The pallbearers were six nephews, Chester and Julius Boyd, of Northfield, Minn., Obie and Ollie Hauge of Story City, Robert Wierson, Ontario, Iowa and Lowell Tegland of Roland.
Interment took place in Fairview cemetery.
