GEORGE HALSTEAD DIED SATURDAY

George Halstead, 35, living three miles east of Gilbert, died at the Mary Greeley hospital in Ames, at 8 o'clock Saturday morning, following an operation for appendicitis and an attack of influenza. Funeral services were held at the Adams Funeral home Tuesday afternoon. Mr. Halstead was born in Illinois Aug. 20, 1901, but moved here with his parents when seven months old. He was graduated from the Gilbert school. Surviving him are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles W. Halstead; two brothers, Walter of Racine, Minn., and Glen of Portland, Ore.; and two sisters, Mrs. Ray Stark of Boxholm and Margaret of Hinsdale, Ill.
