FORMER LOCAL MAN IS DEAD
Cecil Carl Hays, 46, son and brother of Mrs. M. S. Hays and Miss Eslie Hays, formerly of Story City, but in recent years living in Ames, died Wednesday of last week, of influenza and heart complications at Superior, Wisconsin.
Hays had been employed for the last eight months as an automotive engineer in the Buick factory at Superior. He left Ames about two years ago after operating a garage at 108 Fifth street for four years.
Hays was born in Pulaski, Ia., May 31, 1890, and lived there until he was about 20. He lived in Story City with his parents about two years, working here as a carpenter.
Mr. Hays' wife and daughter, Muriel, were unable to attend the funeral, held in Ames, as Mrs. Hays is ill with pneumonia in a Syracuse, N. Y., hospital.
