OBITUARY

OLE JACOBSON

Ole Annaias Jacobson, son of Ole H. and Anna Jacobson was born in Gilbert, Story County, Iowa on August 8, 1885 and passed away May3, 1958. He was baptized and confirmed in St. Petri Lutheran church at Story City. For a few years, he attended the South St. Petri church in the country, and the last 40 years has been an active member in St. Petri. He attended school in Gilbert, Iowa.

His first marriage was to Lillie Olson of Gilbert. Two children were born to this union, the son dying in infancy. His wife died August 4, 1916.

On November 19, 1918, he married Caroline (Lena) Jondall to whom two children were born. Mr. Jacobson was an active farmer in the Gilbert community all of his adult life. On December 11, 1952 his wife passed away. Also preceding him in death were his parents, 3 brothers and 4 sisters.

Surviving are his children, Eleanor (Mrs. Lee Thomas), Minot, N. Dakota; Mary Jane (Mrs. Melbourn Henderson), Story City; Marjorie (Mrs. Robert Kenny), Ames; two sisters, Eva Jacobson, Ames; and Viola Runger, Phoenix, Ariz. Four grandchildren, Ronald and Jane Henderson, Story City; Stephen and Frederick Chase, Ames; and many other relatives.

Funeral services were held at 2 p. m. Tuesday, May 6th at St. Petri Lutheran church, preceded by a brief service at 1:45 in the chapel. The Rev. Harold Masted officiated. Burial was in Story City Municipal Cemetery. Mrs. Robert Hermanson sang "Day Spring of Eternity" and "The Lord's Prayer," accompanied by Mrs. Alfred Jacobson. Pall bearers were Jens Larsen, Daniel Jacobson, John Gildersleeve, Kenneth Fossel, Don Pauk and Lester Peterson.
