OBITUARY

CHARLES O. COLE

Charles Oliver Cole, son of James and Elizabeth Cole, was born in St. Clair county, near Oyer, Mo., Aug. 16, 1886, and passed away Jan. 6, 1937, at the age of 50 years, 4 months and 21 days.

He was converted and united with the Pleasant Springs Baptist church in 1907. In 1930 he placed his membership with Grace Evangelical church at Story City, Iowa.

On May 14, 1911, he was united in marriage to Bertha O. Schuette. To this union were born two sons: Julius C. and Milford E.

In March, 1913, he with his wife moved to Story county, Iowa, where he resided until Dec. 16, 1936, when he and his family moved back to Missouri.

He had been in his usual state of good health until a week prior to his passing, when he was stricken with flu-pneumonia. All that loving hands and medical skill were able to do was of no avail.

He was a devoted husband and father, always thinking of and doing for the welfare of his family and others. He leaves to mourn his death his wife, two sons, three brothers, Snoden, George and Clayton; four sisters, Mrs. Claud Breeden, Mrs. Willis Street, Mrs. Tom Richey and Mrs. Elwyn Allen, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Those from a distance to attend the funeral were John Springman, Lloyd Peak and Clarence Thompson, of Story City. They, with Early Copenhaver, Arbra Amick and Geo. Motley, acted as pallbearers.

Thou hast flown, dear father,
From a weary bed of pain;
Thou hast flown to realms of glory,
Never to return again.
And our hearts are filled with sorrow,
As we bid a last good-bye,
But we hope again to meet you
In the home beyond the sky.
Farewell then, dear father,
Till we in heaven meet,
There to dwell with Jesus,
And walk the golden street.

Mrs. Charles Cole,
