OBITUARY

SEVERT OSVOG

Severt Osvog was born at Oslo, Norway, on Jan. 18, 1868, and passed away July 13, 1936, at the St. Thomas hospital at Marshalltown, Iowa. He had reached the age of 68 years, 5 months and 24 days.

He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith in Norway. He came to America in 1886. On October 10, 1891, he was united in marriage to Martha Opstvedt in the Rev. Jacobson parsonage. To this union two children were born, one dying in infancy. Mrs. Julia Knutson of Story City remains to mourn the loss of her father. His wife preceded him in death February 23, 1896.

Funeral services were held on Friday, July 17, at 1:30 at the Knutson home and at 2 o'clock in the St. Petri Lutheran church , conducted by Rev. W. F. Scarvie. A vocal solo, "One Sweetly Solemn Thought" was sung by Theo. Quam. The pall bearers were Pearl O. Kaness, Burton Gandrup, Sherman E. Egeland, Arnold Cole, Sam and Henry Opstvedt. Interment was made at the Roland cemetery.
