OBITUARY
MRS. O. M. OLSON
Mrs. O. M. Olson (nee Martha Marie Roe) was born of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. O. S. Roe, in Clinton county, Iowa, August 15, 1863. She died July 12, 1936, at the age of 72 years, 10 months and 28 days.
At the age of five she came to Story county. Her father with the three oldest children, Ole, Johanna and Annie, came by prairie schooner. They settled on a farm three miles southeast of Roland, where she grew to womanhood.
In 1883 she was united in marriage to Oliver Omundson, who died at the end of a year. No children survive this union.
In 1886 she was united in marriage to Ole M. Olson, who preceded her in death seven years ago. They lived on a farm six miles southwest of Story City, but moved to Story City in 1902. This has been her home since. To this union were born five children. Two died in infancy and following are left to mourn the loss of a kind and loving mother: Christian of Mayville, North Dakota, Martin and Louise of Story City; also two step-children, Mrs. Anna Hunter of Story City, and Ole of Westbrook, Minn. All were present at her death-bed. There are several grandchildren surviving her.
Of the following brothers and sisters, Anna, Lars, Sven, Ole, Johanna (Mrs. Gust Hanson), and Christina (Mrs. Albert Hines), Anna is the only one left to mourn her passing.
Mrs. Olson was a lover of home and spent most of her energy in the service of her loved ones. It was her main purpose in life to have those about her grow up to be upright and God-fearing. Her loss will be felt keenly and her influence will linger long in the memory of those with whom she came in contact.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 15, 1:30 at the home and 2 o'clock at the Immanuel church. Rev. T. T. Heimarck in charge.
