Ralph Zwickey Funeral
Friday afternoon, July 17, funeral services were held here for the late Ralph Zwickey, who died Tuesday at the home of his sons near Graceville, Minn., after a long illness. He had been bedfast since November. Rev. Alex Russell was in charge of the services at the Congregational church at 2 o'clock. The singers were Mrs. H. R. Martin, Mrs. L. J. Velman, B. D. Kent and A. L. Dickinson, who sang, "Abide with Me," "Jesus, Savior Pilot Me" and "Rock of Ages." The pall bearers were Sam Askelson, Charlie and Ottie Crouthamel, Fred Anderson, J. S. Jacobson and Fred Reinsch. Interment was in the Gilbert cemetery. Ralph Zwickey was born Dec. 7, 1863, in Switzerland. He came to the United States with his parents in 1867 and settled at Oshkosh, Wis. Later the family moved to Iowa and there it was that Mr. Zwickey was united in marriage to Ida Gunder in 1893. In 1903 they moved to Johnson, Minn., where they were engaged in farming until recent years. They then retired and moved to Gilbert where they remained until Mrs. Zwickey's death in 1930. Since that time he has been living with his sons near Graceville. He leaves three sons, Laverne, Roscoe and Alf. and three brothers.
