Death of Oscar A. Johnson
Oscar A. Johnson, Gilbert implement dealer, died at St. Anthony's hospital at Carroll early Saturday morning of injuries received in an automobile accident between Carroll and Audubon Friday. Mr. Johnson was on his way to Atlantic to attend the funeral of a sister-in-law, Mrs. Lige Johnson. He was alone and apparently lost control of his car which overturned three times on the pavement. He suffered a fractured skull and internal injuries.
Mr. Johnson had been in the implement business here a number of years and made his home with his son, Lester and family, two miles west of town. Besides the son Lester he leaves two other sons, Earl of Sioux City and Carroll of Cleveland, Ohio, and a daughter, Mrs. Albert Kimball, Pittsburg, Pa., and a brother, Clint Johnson of Winnebago, Minn.
The funeral was held Tuesday, 2 o'clock at the home and 2:30 at the Congregational church. Burial was made in the Gilbert cemetery beside his wife, who passed away several years ago.
