Obituary of Clarence Jacobson
Clarence Melven Jacobson, son of Mr. and Mrs. H. O. Jacobson, was born Feb. 21, 1915, and passed away Friday, Oct. 11, 1935, at the Story City hospital, being 20 years and 8 months old at the time of his death.
Never complaining of being ill, and apparently in the best of health, he became violently ill on Friday, Oct. 4, and was immediately taken to the hospital where he submitted to a major operation. He seemed to stand the operation as well as could be expected, but Wednesday night became worse, and in spit of what skilled and loving hands could do, he passed away shortly after midnight Friday, Oct. 11.
Clarence was baptized and confirmed in the St. Paul's church, and this early Christian training seemed to be of help to him in his hour of need, when human help can be of no avail for on Thursday night he seemed to realize that the end was near and he offered up a little prayer and we know that Jesus is always willing and able to save a truly penitent soul.
Besides his parents he leaves to mourn his seemingly untimely death, one brother, Harry, staying at home, and five sisters, Jennie, also at home, Mrs. Lester Haukoos, Mrs. Burton Satre, Mrs. Albert Meyers, all of Stanhope, Mrs. Reuben Nibe of Story City.
The pall bearers at the funeral were Clifford Boe, LuVerne Frette, Arthur Jacobson, Arnold Miller and Milford and Joe Romsey.
