PETER LAUESON [SIC] FUNERAL HELD LAST SUNDAY

Well Known Story City Farmer Died at Home West of Town Thursday Afternoon

Funeral services were held last Sunday afternoon for the late Peter Laueson [sic], whose death occurred shortly after noon of last Thursday.

Fev. Fuller officiated at the home and at Grace church, where a large concourse of neighbors and friends gathered to pay their last respects to the departed.

The pall bearers were: John Jorgenson, Andrew Bickelhaupt, Jens Nelson, Hans Hendricksen, John M. Johnson and John Baldus. Interment was made in Fairview cemetery at this place.

Rev. Fuller read the following obituary at the funeral:

Peder Laueson [sic] was born in Eriste, Denmark, Nov.10, 1852, and died at Story City, Jan. 8, 1931, at the age of 78 years, one month and 29 days. He was baptized and confirmed in the church at Aristo, where he grew to manhood. As a young man he took his turn in the Danish army.

He was married to Christine Pederson in 1872. To this union were born two children, Mrs. John Larson of Story City, and Nels at home.

Mr. and Mrs. Laueson came to America in 1883. They lived at Gilbert two years and then moved to the farm west of Story City where they have lived for 46 years.

Mr. Laueson was a man who was well thought of as a neighbor and friend; honest and fair in his dealings. He was never sick to amount to anything until the past year when the disease that finally took him came upon him. At first he worried considerably because of his suffering, but as the end approached he was resigned to go; even eager to leave this life, and frequently gave evidence of his faith and confidence in Christ as his Savior, always desirous that prayer should be offered on his behalf and audibly assenting to the prayer offered.

His wife and two children survive to mourn a devoted husband and a kind father.
