BEN KNIVSLAND DIED; BURIED HERE YESTERDAY

Ben Knivsland, who has been seriously sick for three months, died at the hospital in Faribault, Minn., last Sunday. An operation had been attempted two weeks ago, but a case of chirrosis [sic] had developed so far that nothing could be done for him.

A funeral service was held at Kenyon, Minn., Monday, after which the body was brought here for burial, following a funeral service in the St. Petri church yesterday afternoon conducted by Rev. Scarvie.

Pallbearers were: Elmer Sande, Joseph Olson, Ben Anderson, Ole Roth, T. M. Holm and Peter Halleland. Those from a distance at the funeral were Joseph and Adolph Kylo of Kenyon, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Palmer Olson of Afton, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Brown and Mrs. James Brown of Eagle Grove, Harry Brown of Clarion, and Mrs. Knivsland and two children of Faribault, Minn.

Ben Knivsland was born on the farm west of Story City Sept. 7, 1893, being thus a little over 37 years old at the time of his death. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Peder Knivsland, preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife and two children, also one brother and three sisters, namely, Henry Knivsland of Stanwood, Wash., Mr. D. B. Sheriff of Everett, Wash., Mrs. D. B. Olson and Mrs. Mary Lackor of Story City.

He move to Minnesota in 1918, being married that year on Christmas Day to Gunhild Kylo at Kenyon, Minn. To this union two children were born, Betty Lou (7) and Paul Burton (5).
