OBITUARY

Mrs. Albert Madsen

Mrs. Albert Madsen (Maiden name Sirie Jonason) was born near Flekkefjord Bakke Sogn, Norway, July 22, 1848, and died at her home in Story City, Iowa, Sept. 7, 1921, aged 73 years, 6 weeks and 5 days.

She came from Norway to Story City in 1881. Oct. 27, 1883, she was married to Albert Madsen, with whom she lived on the farm northwest of town and later in Story City. Five children were born to this union, three of whom preceded her to the better land, and two are now living, namely, Julia and Ingvald. Besides the husband, the following stepchildren also survive her: Hans Madson of Colorado, Carl Madson of Fargo, N. D., Andrew Madson of Elmore, Minn., Ole Madson on the home farm and Thomas Madsen of Story City.

In 1905 Mr. and Mrs. Madsen moved from their farm to Story City, where they have since made their home.

Funeral services were held last Saturday in the Bethel church, of which Mrs. Madsen had been a long honored and active member. Rev. Paulsrud, her pastor, spoke feelingly of her faithfulness in the home and in the work of the ladies aid society.
