From Story City Herald September 1, 1921 (page 4)

Mrs. R. P. Sheffield

Mornilva Permelia Sheffield, daughter of Truman and Almina Robbins Squier, was born in Elyria, Ohio, Nov. 7, 1847, and died at her home southeast of Story City, August 19, 1921, aged 73 years, 9 months and 12 days.

In early childhood she moved with her parents to Illinois and then to Wisconsin, and in 1857 to Story City, Iowa. Here she was married to Royal P. Sheffield, March 20, 1864, and lived the simple, tho at times strenuous, life of a pioneer mother and community builder. She taught school in the neighborhood in the early days, and during the pastorate of Rev. Niebel was baptized and entered the fellowship of the Evangelical association.

She is survived by her husband, two daughters (Mrs. Nina Wiggins of Story City and Mrs. Stella Shirkey of Deertrail, Colo.) and two sons (Frank of Graettinger and Clinton of Zuni, N.M.)

The funeral services were held in the Grace church Tuesday afternoon, the pastor, Rev. Smith, officiating. Many of her old time friends from far and near took this occasion to pay their last tribute to their departed friend and neighbor.

Card of Thanks

We wish to sincerely thank our many friends who were such a help to us during the sickness, death and burial of our beloved wife and mother. Especially do we wish to thank the pastor and choir for their assistance.
Royal P. Sheffield and family
