PIONEER WOMAN OF GILBERT IS DEAD

Mrs. Elixabeth Bunce, on of the pioneer residents of Gilbert died during the night Monday and the funeral will be held in that place today.

A sister of Mrs. Bunce, Mrs. A. Gunder, had visited her home during the day and as night came on, she remarked she had better be starting home.

"Better spend the night with me" was the request of the sister and Mrs. Gunder remained. During the night she heard heavy breathing from the bedroom of the sister and hastened to that part of the building. Mrs. Bunce was unconscious and never regained consciousness up to the time of death.

Mrs. Bunce was born in Scott county, Ohio. She was the widow of the late David Bunce, who died here about two years ago. For many years she made her home in Gilbert and in this vicinity. Few people in the neighborhood did not know her. She was highly esteemed. Since Mr. Bunce's death she had had as companion in her home her grandson, Harold Cummings.

Mrs. Bunce is survived by six children: W. M. Frank and Art Bunce of Artesian, S. D.; Bertha Bonneau of Mitchell, S. D., and Mrs. Peter Marsden and Mrs. Joe Watts of Boone. In addition, one brother, Fred Linerode of Omaha and Mrs. Frank Whalen, Mrs. Walker and Mrs. John Bowman of Boone and Mrs. Gundeer of Gilbert survive.
