OBITUARY

S. L. Larson

S. L. Larson was born in Story City, Iowa, of the parents Mr. and Mrs. Sam S. Larson on Nov. 10, 1862, and died on Jan. 3, 1919, at his home in Story City, at the age of 58 years, 1 month and 23 days.

On June 15, 1889, he was united in marriage to Ella T. Erickson. To this union were born eleven children, of whom three died in infancy. The surviving children are: Theodore, Mrs. Thos. A. Johnson of Jewell, Sherman, Ingram, Ruth, Winfred, Lester and Gladys.

Mr. Larson had been in poor health for a number of years. About a year ago he had an attack of pneumonia, from which he did not fully recover. He suffered for three weeks from the second attack.

He leaves his wife, 8 children, and one grandchild to mourn his death, besides 3 brothers, A. G., Rasmus and Henry, and two sisters, Mrs. John Molstre and Mrs. George Simonson both of California.

Funeral services were held on Monday afternoon at 1:30 at the house, and 2 o'clock at the church. Rev. Guttebo officiating.

In the death of Mr. Larson the community loses one of its oldest native born citizens and his departure causes regret in a large circle of old time friends and neighbors.
