OBITUARY
Mrs. Marie Nielsen was born in Denmark, Feb. 15, 1846, and died at the home of her son, A. J. Nelson, at Hornick, Iowa, Sept. 22, 1921, at the age of 75 years and 7 months.
She was united in marriage to Anders Nielson, Aug. 31, 1872. Her husband preceded her to the better land 22 years ago. To this union 8 children were born, of whom five, together with three step-children, are living, namely, Anders Nelson, Chicago; Mrs. N. M. Nelson, Story City; Robert Nelson, Los Angeles, Cal.; Mary Nelson, deceased; Mrs. Marie Nelson Brown, deceased; Mrs. J. P. Anderson, Northwood; Mrs. S. B. Lee, Gilbert; Mrs. Kathryn Nelson Martens, deceased; Mrs. F. J. Rasmussen, Denver, Colo.; Mrs. Elizabeth Nelson Hill, deceased; Mrs. Otto Thompson, Fresno, Cal.; and A. J. Nelson of Hornick.
Mrs. Nelson was a loving wife and mother, a true friend and a good neighbor. She had enjoyed good health until in recent months she was noticeably failing and when illness overtook her the end came very rapidly, and she passed away gladly in the faith that had sustained her thru life.
