Hattie, wife of D. V. Jones was born in Illinois in 1875 and died in Story County, Iowa, Feb. 27, 1906. Mrs. Jones lived in her native stat until two years ago, when with her family she moved to Iowa where she has since lived.

During her suffering of three long weeks her physicians, a kind nurse, loving friends and neighbors did everything they could for her but to no avail.

Mrs. Jones was a Christian woman, a Methodist in religion, and highly esteemed by all who knew her for her many virtues. She was an affectionate wife, a loving mother and kind neighbor.

During her illness she expressed a desire to live to care for her home and little ones but was willing to die if called to go. The remains were taken to New Berlin, Ill., for burial, and she now rests in the land of her girlhood, with her dear friends gone before. The many friends and neighbors sympathize with the bereaved family in their great sorrow.
