OBITUARY.
LARS T. TEGLAND.
L.T. Tegland was born in Norway, Aug. 8, 1828; came to Morris, Ill., July 3, 1849.
He was married to Bertha Mathre May 11, 1856. To this union nine children were born, two of which survive, Martin and Mrs. O. J. Lund of Morris, Ill.
Mrs. Tegland died July 13, 1877 and was buried by the side of six of her children at North Prairie, Ill.
L. T. Tegland was again married to Bell Suse in April, 1879. To this union were born three children, Severt who died in Story City, Aug. 14, 1906, and Tom and Lewis, who with their mother reside in Hardy, Ia.
L. T. Tegland died June 2, 1907, and his age was 79 years. The funeral took place from the home June 3, and the remains were then taken to Story City where the burial took place June 5th from his sister's house, Mrs. L. Mathre, at 10:15 at house, and then to the Immanuel church and was buried in the Story City cemetery. Rev. Heimarck and Rev. Shefland officiated at the church and Rev. Sevde at house at Hardy.
There remains a wife, four children and two sisters (Mrs. L. Mathre of Story City and Mrs. Golla Larson of Huxley, Ia.) and a brother, Ole Tegland of Norway, to mourn nis death, and many other relatives.
L. T. Tegland lived in Grundy and Kendall counties, Ill., 43 years and in Morris 3 years. he then moved to Story City in 1894 where he lived til 1904, when he moved to Hardy, Ia., where his last days were spent. He was sick about three weeks, but not seriously til the last three days. The sickness was stomach and kidney trouble. We had in L. T. Tegland a kind husband, loving father and good neighbor. He was an active member in his church, though not politician he was a strong republican and he believed in the enforcement of the laws of his country. T.
