OBITUARY
Elisha Franklin Rainbolt was born in Lawrence county, Indiana, Oct. 31, 1834, and died in Gilbert, Iowa, Sept. 18, 1912, being 77 years, 10 months and 17 days at the time of his death. He was united in marriage to Sarah J. McLean February 18, 1858. Seven children were born to them, three daughters and four sons. The daughters all have preceded their father to the future life, leaving to mourn his loss his widow and four sons, Walter, Virgil, Bert and Roscoe, all living near Gilbert.
Mr. Rainbolt moved from his home in Indiana to Story county, just west of Gilbert, in April, 1879, where he made his home on his farm until about seven years ago, when he retired from the farm and moved to the home in Gilbert. Here he passed his days until his decease.
In Mr. Rainbolt the neighbors found a friend in time of need, and they will miss his friendly greeting, and his loved ones a loving husband and kind father. Mr. Rainbolt united with the Baptist church in 1869, before he came to Iowa.
