Miss Margaret Cullen was born in Glasgow, Scotland, Aug. 6, 1832, and died at Gilbert, Jan. 6, 1915, at age of 82 years and 5 months. She moved from Scotland with her parents in 1848 and located at New Mines, Pa. She was united in marriage to John Fairlie and to this union was born four children, two of whom survive her, namely Mrs. Margret Kelley of Thornburg, and James Fairlie of Geneseo, Ill. She was later married to Mr. John Marsden in the year 1867, and to them was born two sons and one daughter, who also survive her, namely, Mrs. Mackey of Mackey, William Marsden of Manly, and Peter Marsden of Zenorsville. The family moved to Boone county in 1876, coming to Gilbert later to live. To mourn their bereavement are her husband John Marsden and five children. Mrs. Marsden embraced the Christian faith when 15 years old and to her end manifested a deep interest in the kingdom. She joined the Methodist church when 15 years old and enjoyed an intimate relation to the fellowship of the Crofferd meetings in the McFarland school house northwest of Gilbert nearly 30 years.
