Ole Simonson of Randall Passed Away on May 20
Ole Simonson of Randall, father of Mrs. Mary Prescott of this place, passed away at his home on May 20, lacking one month of being 83 years old. He was born in Denmark, June 21, 1840, married on the 12th of October, 1860, to Katrina Isaacson. They migrated to this country in 1868 and made their home at Calumet, Mich., and here they lived for 19 years. They then moved to Hamilton county, Iowa, and settled on a farm 2 miles north of Randall, living there until twenty years ago when they moved into Randall.
Mr. Simonson was a faithful member of the Elim Lutheran church. His wife died last October and since that time he has been failing in health. He is survived by seven children: Mrs. Anna Hagen of Shell Lake, Wis.; Simon Simonson of Calumet, Mich.; Mrs. Catherina Prescott of Popejoy; Mrs. Mary Prescott of this place; Mrs. Louis Olson of Ames; Carl Simonson of Albuquerque, N. M.,; and Elmer Simonson of Seattle, Wash.; also two brothers, Mikkel Simonson of Jewell and Simon Simonson of Seattle, Wash.; and 30 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday afternoon, May 30, 1:30 at the home and 2 o'clock at the Elim church. The pall bearers were his grandsons: Carl Prescott, Otis Prescott, Elmer Prescott, Marion Prescott, Lyman Osam and Clifford Osam.
