OBITUARY
William Williams

William Williams (Kolhus), was born at Vats, near Stavanger, Norway, Jan. 15, 1840, and died in Story City, Iowa, July 7th, 1926. He was at his death 86 years and six months.

He came to America in 1871 on the fourth of July.

He stopped a few months at Leland, Ill., after which he resided for five years. In 1876 he moved to his homestead nine miles northwest of Story City, where he lived until four years ago, when he moved to Story City.

In 1866 he was married to Johanna Sortvedt, also from Vats. To this union five children were born, two of whom preceded him in death; those living are: Andrew Williams, Hettinger, N. D.; Betsy Williams of Story City, and Willie Williams of Jewell, Iowa. He also leaves two grandchildren.

He was for many years a faithful member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church, near Rosendale. After coming to Story City he has been a member of the Bethel church.

His wife died 23 years ago.
