OBITUARY
Mrs. Walter Nelson

Emma Johanna Catherine Nelson was born in Harrison township, Boone county, October 1, 1891 and passed away July 22, 1926. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Ahrens.

She married June 14, 1910 to Walter Nelson. Two sons were born to this union, Raymond and Harld [sic], age 15 and 18 years.

She took sick on July 21 with internal hemorrhage and died the next morning at about six o'clock.

She leaves to mourn her loss besides her husband and two sons, her parents, three brothers, Andrew, Albert and Arthur Ahrens, and two sisters, Mrs. L. C. Richardson and Mildred Ahrens, and many other relatives and friends.

The funeral services were held at the St. Petri church, in charge of Rev. Heimarck. Interment took place at Story City cemetery. Those from a distance who attended the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Ben Ahrens and daughters Naomi and Minnie of Montevideo, Minn.; Andrew Mitchel, Mrs. Herman Grabau and son Arthur of Cedar Rapids; Mr. and Mrs. Dick Tjetjen and son of Perry, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Salem Jamell and son of Grimes, Iowa, and Mr. and Mrs. H. O. Powers and son and Mrs. Earl Gaunt of Zearing, Iowa.
