From Story City Herald July 16, 1925 (page 6)
Mrs. Anna Knudson was born in Vigedal, Norway, on July 23, 1839, and passed away at the home of her son, 2 miles north of Randall, Iowa, on July 11, 1925. She was 85 years, 11 months and 18 days. In October 1864 she was married to Knut Knudson and to this union nine children were born. They survive except Mrs. Gudelie Severson, who died 22 years ago. The remaining children are Ole of Pontiac, Ill., Ed and Knut of Randall, Mrs. Sarah Martin of Cedar Rapids, Mrs. Betsie Stuvick of Carbon, Theo., Anton Clyde of North Dakota, Obed of Windom, Minn. With her husband and four children she came to America in 1874. They settled at Pontiac, Ill., where they remained for 20 years after which they moved to Hamilton county, Iowa where they have lived the last 31 years. Her husband died in 1903 and since that time she had kept house for her two sons, Ed and Knut. Besides these children she also leaves 19 grand children and 7 great grandchildren.
She has been a patient sufferer for a number of years. She was a good neighbor and friend to all that knew her and a faithful reader of her Bible and may she rest safe in the arms of Jesus.
And the trials on earth are ended
And this path no more she trod,
But may her name be written
Safe in Heaven with God.May God console the bereaved children. Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 14, at 1:30 at the home and at 2:00 o'clock at the Elim Lutheran church at Randall, conducted by Rev. G. O. Paulsrud. Burial was made in a cemetery east of Ellsworth [Greenwood Cemetery.]
