OBITUARY
Martha, daughter of Olaf and Rangnild Rorvig, was born in Norway July 9, 1841, and died at the home of her son Martin Townswick, west of Story City, May 25, 1923, at the age of 82 years, 10 months and 16 days.
She was married to John J. Tungesvig in 1863 and they immigrated to America in 1872 settling on a farm north of Roland, where they lived two years and then moved to their farm near Story City. Her husband died in 1906.
Six children were born to her, all surviving her and being present at the funeral, which was held Tuesday, May 29, in the Bethel church.
The surviving children are: Mrs. T. P. Hermanson of Ruthron, Minn.; Thomas of Tyler, Minn.; Thomas of Tyler, Minn.; Ole of Madison, S. D.; and John, Lewis and Martin of this place. The five sons and son-in-law acted as pallbearers at the funeral.
Mrs. Tungesvig has one surviving sister, who lives in Norway.
She had not been specially ill, only failing in strength due to her age. She was visiting for a few days at the home of her son Martin and had gone to bed feeling much as usual. In the morning, however, it was discovered that the angel of death had called in the night and her soul had taken its flight.
