OBITUARY
Mrs. Andrew S. Anderson
Mrs. A. S. Anderson was born at Sonfjord, Norway, in April, 1855, her parents being Ludvig and Helena Sorenson, and she died at her home in Story City, May 14, 1923, at the age of 68 years and 1 month.
In 1868 she came to America with her parents, settling in Hamilton county, where she spent her life until December 1915, when she and her husband moved to Story City.
She was married to A. S. Anderson Oct. 1, 1875. To this union nine children were born. Two of these died, Annie Govene at the age of two years, and Anders at six months. The husband and seven children survive to mourn her death. The surviving children are: Lewis of Blue Earth, Minn.; Mrs. M. E. Swenson and Mrs. A. Swenson of Ellsworth, Arthur of Story City, Richard and Benjamin of Jewell and Julius of Des Moines. Fifteen grand children also remain.
Mrs. Anderson also leaves two brothers and two sisters, namely, Peter Soren of California, John Soren of Clarion, Mrs. A. C. Molstre of Ray, Minn., and Mrs. Sara Brue of Nevis, Minn.
She had been sick about two months. Her illness she bore patiently and when the end came she was ready to go to meet her Saviour.
Funeral services were held in the Immanuel church, conducted by her pastor, Rev. Heimarck, assisted by the pastor of her former church, Rev. Oppedal. Her five sons and one son-in-law acted as pall bearers. A large concourse of people filled the church and floral tributes were unusually fine.
Among the out of town people at the funeral were: John Soren and wife and three sons, Harry, Elmer and Clifford, of Clarion; Mrs. Mehl and daughter of Nevada; Emanuel Anderson and wife, Ole Johnson and Joel Lugland and wife of Radcliffe; Mrs. Anna Hill of Jewell; Mr. and Mrs. Albert Iverson of Stanhope. All the children were present.
