OBITUARY
John Jacobson
John Jacobson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Nels Jacobson, was born in Woodbury county, Iowa, Nov. 5, 1892, and passed away at his home Friday, Dec. 8, 1922 at the age of 30 years, 1 month and 3 days.
He had been in his usual health until Monday, Dec 4, when he was taken sick with pneumonia. All that loving hands could do to prolong his stay was tried, but death came very suddenly Friday morning and he passed quietly away.
At the age of two years he came with his parents to Story county, where he grew to manhood and has resided ever since.
During the past several years he had become well and favorably known as a piano tuner, bein a registered Player Mechanic; this work kept him busy continuously until the time of his illness.
John was an estimable young man in all his ways and was well liked by all who knew him. He was confirmed by Rev. Heimarck with the class of 1907 and was a true believer in the Christian faith. He will be greatly missed by his mother, brothers and sisters, for he was like sunshine in the home. They live with assurance that he had gone Home to his Heavenly Father where there is no more parting or sorrow.
He leaves to mourn his loss and early departure his mother, two brothers, Jacob and Neal, three sisters Mabel, Anna and Nettie. His father preceded him to the great beyond last December. He also leaves a large number of relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon, December 12, from the home and South St. Petri church conducted by Rev. Heimarck. The remains were laid to rest in the family lot at the South St. Petri cemetery beside his father.
Precious one, he has left us,
Left us, yes, forever more;
But hope to meet our loved one
On that bright and happy shore.
Lonely the house and sad the hours
Since our dear one has gone;
But oh, a brighter home than our
In Heaven is now his own.
