Last Rites Held for Oley L. Johnson, 65

Funeral services for Oley L. Johnson, 65, of Huxley were held Monday at the Palestine Lutheran Church at 2 p. m.

The Rev. Arnold F. Hanson was in charge of the service, using as his text Romans 14:7-10.

Pastor Hanson sand "How Great Thou Art" and "Have Thine Own Way Lord." Mrs. Noel Larson was the organist.

Pallbearers were Lester Michaelson, Orland Fjelland, Lowell Wee, Ellsworth Johnson, Dwayne Johnson and Jewell Richardson.

Interment was in the Palestine Cemetery.

Obituary

Oley L. Johnson, son of Michael and Carrie Johnson, was born Jan. 15, 1898 at Huxley. He died suddenly of a heart ailment Aug. 10 at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines.

He was baptized and confirmed at the Palestine Lutheran Church at Huxley, where he served as trustee at the time of his death. He had also served on the town council at Huxley. He fared for 32 years near Ankeny moving to Huxley in 1954.

He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant daughter and a sister, Mrs. Dena Michelson.

He is survived by his wife, Mabel*; three sons, Merlyn of Des Moines and Hubert and Michael of Huxley; two brothers, Lewie of Huxley and Miller of Des Moines; four grandchildren, Chris, Connie, Danny and Mitchell Johnson. Many other relatives and friends mourn his passing.
