Funeral Last Friday For Sheldahl Woman

Last rites for Mrs. Anna Moore Estrem were held Friday at the Sheldahl Methodist Church at 2 p. m.

The Rev. Richard Nichol was in charge, choosing John 11:25 as the text for his sermon.

Mrs. Lester Becker sang "Under His Wing" and "Sweetly Resting." Mrs. Orrie Stauffer was the organist.

Pallbearers were Jesse Bryant, Arnold DeBie, Earl Mosebach, August Carlson, Fred Muehlenthaler and Harvey Trumbull.

Burial was in the Sheldahl Cemetery.

The floral offerings were arranged by Mrs. August Carlson and Mrs. Earl Mosebach.

A prayer service, with Rev. Richard Nichol in charge, was held Thursday evening at the Riis Funeral Home where the body laid in state.

Obituary

Anna Van Gundy, daughter of John and Mercy Mason Van Gundy, was born on a farm near Alleman April 29, 1882. She married Ernest Leon Moore of Sheldahl, Dec. 31, 1901 at Slater. They were nearing their 50th wedding anniversary when Mr. Moore died in October 1951. She was married to Nels Estrem in 1958 who survives her.

Mrs. Estrem was 81 years of age on April 29. She was a lifetime resident of the Slater-Sheldahl community. She was a member of the Sheldahl Methodist Church.

She suffered a stroke early in May of this year and had been seriously ill since that time. She passed away Tuesday evening, Aug. 13, at the Mary Greeley Hospital in Ames.

Besides her husband, she is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Eva Stensland of Kelley, Mrs. Rose Foshe of Granger, Mrs. Edith Williams of Waterloo and Mrs. Mina Robbins of Woodward; four sons, Harley and Lester of Sheldahl, Victor of Gary, Ind.; and Ralph of Dayton, Ohio; two brothers Lincoln Van Gundy of Milltown, Wis., and William Van Gundy of Slater, two sisters, Mrs. Mary Harris of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Mrs. Ruby Inman of Lake Worth, Fla.; 22 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.
