Funeral Services at McCallsburg for Mrs. Peter Lura
McCallsburg, Sept. 23--The funeral of Mrs. Peter Lura was held Saturday, Sept. 19, with a brief prayer service at the home and the main service in the Bethany church, McCallsburg, Rev. H. N. Bakke, her pastor, being in charge.
There were two duets by Mr. and Mrs. O. S. Boyd, from Roland: "Face to Face with Christ My Savior", and "Some Time We'll Understand." They were accompanied on the piano by Mrs. John Helland. The pallbearers were Nels Torgerson, B. A. Imsland, T. O. Higland, Oscar Jacobson, Martin Hankoas and Joseph Johnson. There were many beautiful floral tributes, and also a number of gifts for missions. The remains were laid to rest in the Warren township cemetery.
Hanner Sofie Gravdahl was born May 16, 1888, near McCallsburg, Ia. Her parents were Bertha and Torres Gravdahl. At the age of 14 she was confirmed at the East Bergen church by Rev. G. Smedal Oct. 2, 1902.
February 10, 1908, she was united in marriage to Peter K. Lura. They settled on a farm near McCallsburg, where they have since resided. Her father, mother and a sister, Alice, have preceded her in death. For many years she has been in poor health. She passed away Sept. 17 at the age of 54 years. She leaves to mourn her passing her husband, Peter K. Lura and a brother, Webster Johnson of Minneapolis, as well as a large number of relatives and friends.
