PRICE, JOHN OLIVER (1876-1961)

“JOHN OLIVER PRICE. – John Oliver Price, son of James and Margaret Morgan Price, was born in Schylar County, Missouri, May 5 1876. He passed away on April 9, 1961 at the Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines. In October of 1897 John was united in marriage to Letticia Jane Sebree and to this union five children were born. Mr. Price moved with his family to Central Iowa in 1908 and has lived in this area the rest of his life. He was a member of the Sheldahl Methodist Church. John Oliver Price was preceded in death by his wife and one son. He leaves to mourn his passing two sons, William, at home; Frank of Hawthorne, Florida; two daughters, Mrs. Claribel Carlson of Boone; Mrs. Bessie Adams of Polk City; eleven grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 12 at 2 p.m. at the Cooper Funeral Home in Maxwell, with Rev. Stanley Farmer officiating. Music was furnished by Mrs. Alice Gooden accompanied at the organ by Mrs. Madeline Summitt. The floral arrangements were in charge of Alice Larkin, Ruby Griffith and Lily Huser. Casket bearers were Gayle and Carroll Lee, Homer Griffith, Glen Larkin, George Huser and Ora Groseclose. Interment was in the Center Grove Cemetery.”
