REMAINS BURIED NEAR OLD HOME
Funeral services over Grandma Robins were impressive and well attended. Many Tokens of Respect.
Mrs. Elizabeth Robins, whose death and funeral was briefly mentioned in our last issue, was a native of Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, where she was born July 3, 1832. While yet a girl of tender years she moved with her parents to America and settled down in the state of Ohio. From there they moved to Plainfield, Illinois, where she resided the greater part of her life, moving to Slater in 1900.
She was married October 2, 1854 to Fitz James Robins. To this union were born twelve children, five of whom have died. Those left to mourn the loss of a death mother are Mrs. Kenison of Madrid; Mrs. Sager of Boone; Mrs. Emma Lemmer, Chamberlain, South Dakota; Mrs. E. Eyer, Plainfield, Illinois; C. R. Robins, Newton, Texas; A. M. Robins, Iantha, Mo. and W. K. Robins of Slater, Ia.
Mrs. Robins attained an old age, being over 77 years old. As years pass she will be remembered as a most devoted woman. She was always kind and considerate with a big heart. She was an ardent christian and lived the life that she professed. After brief services from her late home Thursday the remains were taken to Plainfield, Illinois, for burial where they were laid to rest beside those of her husband who had preceded her into the other world ten years ago.
