Services Held for Lars L. Richardson

Services were held at the Hanson Funeral Home in Kenyon, Minn., on Saturday evening, Apr. 9 at 8 o'clock for Lars L. Richardson. Two songs, "O Hvor Salig" and "Friends of Jesus at Their Parting," were sung by Mrs. H. Ragnmoe. Rev. Everett Nelson and Rev. J. Ylvisaker spoke.

Funeral services were held Monday at 1:30 p. m. at the Riis Funeral Home in Slater and at 2 o'clock from the Bethany Lutheran Church in Kelley for Lars L. Richardson. Pastor Harry Stoutland of the Palestine Church near Huxley was in charge.

Mr. and Mrs. LaVerne Richardson and Mr. and Mrs. David Heyerdahl sang "Behold a Host" and "Softly the Daylight Faded."

Pallbearers were Nels Richardson, Richard Richardson, Lewis Erickson, Noble Christianson, Clarence Ryg and Milford Thompson.

Interment was in the Bethany Cemetery.

Obituary.

Lars L. Richardson, son of Lars S. and Gertie Richardson, was born Dec. 17, 1865 in Norway and passed away Apr. 7 in the Fairview Rest Home at Dodge Center, Minn., at the age of 89 years, 3 months and 20 days.

At the age of three years he came to this country with his parents and lived in Polk and Story Counties until the age of 58 after which he moved to Kenyon, Minn., where he lived until taken to the rest home about two years ago.

He was united in marriage to Lilly Ryen on Mar. 30, 1895. To this union three son and two daughters were born, all of whom survive him. They are: Henry and Mrs. Leda Walker of Kenyon, Minn.; Gordie of Faribault, Minn., Mrs. Clara Moland and Jeffery of Kelley. Other survivors include 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Mr. Richardson lovingly cared for his children after the death of his wife after only 13 years of marriage.

Preceding him in death were two brothers and one sister.

Mr. Richardson was a charter member of the Bethany Lutheran Church of Kelley and an active worker while a member there. He humbly confessed his faith in his Saviour whom he loved. He was blessed with a gift of song and loved to sing hymns and praises to his Lord.
