“ARMINTA WHITNEY. – Arminta Marie Halterman Whitney 83, of Des Moines, died May 15, 1982 at Iowa Lutheran hospital, Des Moines. She was born May 21, 1898 in Maxwell, the daughter of Christopher and Mary Halterman. On April 14, 1915, she married Clarence Whitney. He preceded her in death in 1954**. Mrs. Whitney lived in the Maxwell and Radcliffe areas most of her life until moving to Des Moines in 1961. She is survived by three sons, Irving and Dean of Radcliffe and Richard of Des Moines; two daughters, Marveljune Malone of Des Moines and Jean Hinderaker of Ames; nine grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 18 at 10:30 a.m. at the Cooper Funeral Home in Maxwell with Rev. Walden Paige officiating. Burial will be in the Maxwell Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home.” **Cemetery records indicate year of death as 1952.
