TOMLINSON, HOWARD (1900 – 1980)

Nevada Public Library obituary file, Nevada, Iowa. NEVADA EVENING JOURNAL. “HOWARD TOMLINSON. – Howard Tomlinson, 79, formerly of Nevada and Maxwell, died Tuesday morning, Jan. 8, at Mercy Hospital, Iowa City. Born Sept. 28, 1900 near Maxwell to Meade and Irene Bell Tomlinson, he married Viola Ray Oct. 12, 1921 in Des Moines. Mr. Tomlinson farmed in the Story County and Walker, Ia., areas until he retired in 1971 and moved to West Branch. He was a member of the Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Betty (Mrs. Frank) Pearson of West Branch; one brother, Forrest Tomlinson of Morrilton, Ark.; one sister, Mrs. Sally Black of Des Moines and one granddaughter. He was preceded in death by a sister. Funeral services will be Friday, Jan. 11, at 1:30 p.m. at Ryan Funeral Home, Nevada, Rev. Harold Wagner officiating. Burial will be in Maxwell Cemetery. The family will be at Ryan Funeral Home Friday morning.”
