THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Friday, September 2, 2005.

Ruby Virginia Otto, 83 of Nevada died on Thursday, Sept. 1 at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 3 at Chet Ryan Mortuary in Nevada with the Rev. Steve Williams officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memory Gardens in rural Nevada.

Ruby was born Feb. 3, 1922, in Missouri to Manford and Dorothy (Berkshire) Hobson. She attended Fernald and Colo schools. She married Wayne W. Otto Nov. 6, 1937, in Des Moines. She was homemaker and employed at Donnelley Marketing. She was a member of the Rebekkah Club and enjoyed crocheting, watching soap operas and listening to country music.

Ruby is survived by four sons, Ron Otto and Dennis Otto, both of Nevada, Earl Otto of Colo and David Otto of Maxwell; one daughter, Betty Huntrods of Nevada; and 16 grandchildren and 32 1/2 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Wayne on Jan. 3, 1999; one grandson; three sisters; and two brothers.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the mortuary.

Memorials may be directed to First United Methodist Church in Nevada or Homeward Hospice of Ames.
